Frenchy has been drawing since he could hold a pencil. A book of Herman Leonard's jazz photographs pointed him toward musicians, and around 1995 the Heavy Metal Horns gave him his first live painting gig. New Orleans has been his home, and his muse, since 1997.
Where Y'at runs through the highlights: the 2015 Jazz Fest poster of Big Chief Bo Dollis of the Wild Magnolias, the 2018 French Quarter Fest poster, grand marshal of the Krewe of Tucks in 2017, years as the Saints' official team artist, and work for the Pelicans and NCAA championships. He paints in acrylics, oils and watercolors at concerts, festivals, cultural celebrations, fundraisers and games, and runs his gallery Uptown on Oak Street.
