Frenchy met ESPN producer Jay Rothman in New Orleans and joined the crew for Sunday Night Football in 2003. By the time ESPN's press room profiled him, he had traveled to more than a dozen ESPN NFL games, including Super Bowl XLVII in his hometown.
On game days he gets to the stadium by noon, sits in on camera meetings and paints the production itself: the trucks, the booth, the people behind the broadcast. During the game he works from the sideline, the production trailer or the booth. The piece he is proudest of is his first ESPN production painting, from a 2003 Sunday Night Football game in Jacksonville. When Rothman showed it to the crew, they applauded.
The profile also revisits September 25, 2006, the Saints' first game back in the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina, when Frenchy was on the field and talked with Steve Gleason in the end zone.
